Vintage Folk Art Painted Wood Keepsake Box, Navy

A solid wood hinged box painted navy blue, with a charming hand-painted folk-art scene on the lid — a boy in a straw hat carrying a basket of apples, a bonneted girl seated on a bench with a bouquet of flowers. The kind of piece that sat on a dresser holding letters or trinkets for decades. Interior is painted dark green and unlined. Two brass-tone decorative hinges on the back. From the ruler in the photos, the box measures approximately 13" wide x 11" deep x 4" tall. Paint shows light scratching and wear on the lid and edges consistent with age and use, but the artwork itself is vivid and intact. A sweet folk-art find. *Generated with Gavel AI — please ask questions if the description doesn't seem right.
