Want the surprise to land on a specific day instead? Switch the toggle to 📅 Pick a date and choose anything up to one year out — birthday, anniversary, holiday morning, whatever you're marking. We hold the recipient's gift email and send it on the chosen day; the credit unlocks at the same time.
Either way, you get your own receipt right after payment so you know it's locked in. Need to change the date or cancel a scheduled gift? Reply to the receipt — we'll take care of it.

🅿 PayPal — no fee. Opens PayPal in a new tab; you click Send; we get notified instantly. The recipient gets every dollar with no processing cost — this is what we recommend whenever PayPal works for you.
💳 Card / Apple Pay / Google Pay — +3% fee. Pays right here on the site, no app needed. The 3% goes to Stripe (the processor); a $50 gift becomes $51.50 charged to your card. Use this if you don't have a PayPal account or you want the convenience of paying with the wallet on your phone.
Common questions
Does the gift expire?
No. Gavel Credit sits on your friend's account until they use it. We never expire credits or tack on dormancy fees.
What if my friend doesn't bid for a while?
No problem — the credit waits for them on their account, no expiration. When they have an invoice with us, they'll see a pink 🎁 Apply Credit button on their dashboard and on the invoice itself. One click and it comes off the balance.
Can I buy a gift for myself?
Sure, but it's pretty redundant 😄 — just pay your invoice directly. Gavel Credit is best when the recipient and the buyer are different people.
What if my friend isn't registered with you yet?
Have them sign up at theauctiongallery.co/register first. Takes about 60 seconds. After that, come back here and buy them a gift.
Can I schedule a gift for a future date (birthday, holiday, anniversary)?
Yes! Pick 📅 Pick a date in step 4 of the form and choose any day up to one year out. We'll hold the recipient's gift email until the morning of that day. You get your receipt right after payment so you know it's locked in. Need to change the date or cancel? Just reply to your receipt and we'll handle it.
What payment methods do you accept?
Two options: PayPal (no fee) or Card / Apple Pay / Google Pay through Stripe (+3% fee). PayPal sends every dollar of the gift to the recipient with no processing cost — that's our recommended option. Stripe is faster (in-page card form, supports Apple/Google Pay wallets) but adds 3% because Stripe takes a processing cut. Pick whichever works best for you.
Can I see what my friend bought with their credit?
No — we keep that private. You'll know they spent it because the credit will eventually deplete, but the items they buy are between them and us.
