Description
A substantial antique stoneware jug or crock — the kind that sat on a farmhouse shelf for generations. The piece stands 9.5" tall and shows a rich, dark salt-glaze finish with natural variation in the clay. The bottom has visible wood-ash speckling and deep grain-like swirls in the fired clay, which is typical of early American utilitarian stoneware. The admin notes slight damage at the spout with what appears to be a repair attempt — worth a close look in the photos before bidding. Solid and heavy, with real age and character.
