Sold to Bidder #9492 for $5.00
Description
A charming celluloid ramp walker from Edi Puppen, the German toy maker, dating to the 1930s–1950s. The doll has the characteristic molded face with blue eyes and red lips, dressed in a black wool swimsuit with cream trim and black shoes. The mechanism is intact: pull the red string attached to the metal counterweight and the doll walks forward down an incline—a simple but delightful toy engineering from the era. Celluloid shows age and light wear; the fabric shows use. A genuine piece of vintage toy history. The arms are still attached to one another, slightly stretched throughout the years, but original.
