Description

The first-year Kennedy half dollar — struck just months after the assassination and snapped up by the public almost immediately. A beautiful example with strong luster and sharp detail on both sides. Details: - Date: 1964 - Mint Mark: Philadelphia (no mint mark) - Denomination: Half Dollar - Series: Kennedy Half Dollar (first year of issue) - Silver Content: 90% silver (pre-1965) - Obverse: JFK portrait, "IN GOD WE TRUST," "LIBERTY" - Reverse: Presidential Seal, "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA / HALF DOLLAR" Circulated with very light wear — luster is largely intact and the devices are crisp. A solid 90% silver piece. The 1964 Kennedy half was so popular that Americans hoarded them almost immediately after release, making circulated examples surprisingly hard to find in this kind of shape. *Generated with Gavel AI — please ask questions if the description doesn't seem right.
