Description

One of the most beloved designs in American coinage — Adolph Weinman's Walking Liberty striding toward the sunrise, struck right in the middle of World War II. Both sides photograph well here. Details: - Date: 1944 - Mint Mark: W (West Point) — reverse, lower right near rim - Denomination: Half Dollar - Series: Walking Liberty Half Dollar (1916–1947) - Silver Content: 90% silver, pre-1965 - Obverse: Liberty figure clear, good detail in the gown and flag - Reverse: Eagle well-defined, moderate high-point wear Circulated with honest wear — details still present on both sides, some natural toning around the rim. A solid circulated example of a classic silver half. Walking Liberty halves were so admired that the obverse design was revived in 1986 for the American Silver Eagle bullion coin, where it still appears today. *Generated with Gavel AI — please ask questions if the description doesn't seem right.
