Standing Liberty Silver Quarter, Date Worn — 90% Silver

A classic Standing Liberty quarter — one of the most beloved designs in American coinage. Both sides are photographed clearly. The obverse shows Liberty standing at the gate with shield and olive branch, "IN GOD WE TRUST" visible across the middle, and the stars along the bottom intact. The reverse shows the flying eagle with "E PLURIBUS UNUM" readable. Unfortunately, the date on the obverse is worn flat — a very common fate for this series, as the date sat on the highest point of the relief and went first. The mint mark area near the bottom of the obverse also appears worn and unreadable in the photo; verify in hand. Details: - Series: Standing Liberty Quarter (Hermon MacNeil design) - Date: not legible — worn flat (verify in hand) - Mint Mark: not legible in photo (verify in hand) - Denomination: Quarter Dollar - Silver Content: 90% silver (all Standing Liberty quarters are pre-1931) - Type: Type 2 obverse appears likely (recessed date design, post-1917), but confirm in hand Heavily circulated with significant wear to the high points — date and head of Liberty are flat. Eagle and lettering on reverse still readable. Honest silver content regardless of grade. The Standing Liberty quarter was minted only from 1916 to 1930, and the exposed date position meant most circulated examples ended up dateless — which is exactly why collectors prize the sharp-date survivors. *Generated with Gavel AI — please ask questions if the description doesn't seem right.
