Description

A classic Standing Liberty quarter — one of the most beloved designs in American coinage, with Hermon MacNeil's full-figure Liberty on the obverse and a soaring eagle on the reverse. The date on this example is worn flat, as is typical for heavily circulated Standing Liberty quarters (the date sat on a high point and was always the first thing to go). The reverse shows the eagle with decent remaining detail, and "QUARTER DOLLAR" reads clearly. No mint mark visible on the reverse below the eagle. Details: - Series: Standing Liberty Quarter (1916–1930) - Date: worn / not legible — verify in hand - Mint mark: not visible in photos - Denomination: Quarter Dollar - Silver content: 90% silver (all Standing Liberty quarters are pre-1965) - Condition: heavily circulated, date fully worn, moderate detail remaining on reverse Solid 90% silver regardless of the date — and if you can read it in hand, you might have a sleeper. The Standing Liberty quarter's date wore away so reliably that the U.S. Mint actually recessed it in 1925 to fix the problem. *Generated with Gavel AI — please ask questions if the description doesn't seem right.
