Standing Liberty Silver Quarter, Date Not Legible, 90% Silver

A classic Standing Liberty quarter — one of the most beloved designs in American coinage, with Hermon MacNeil's full-figure Liberty on the obverse and a soaring eagle on the reverse. Both sides photograph well enough to confirm the series, but the date in the obverse field is worn past legibility in these photos; verify the date in hand before bidding if it matters to you. Details: - Series: Standing Liberty Quarter (1916–1930) - Denomination: Quarter Dollar - Date: Not legible from photos — verify in hand - Mint Mark: Not visible from photos — verify in hand - Silver Content: 90% silver (all Standing Liberty quarters) - Obverse: Liberty figure, shield, olive branch visible; stars present - Reverse: Soaring eagle, E PLURIBUS UNUM, stars Circulated with moderate to heavy wear — details on Liberty's head and shield are flat, eagle feathers softened. Honest circulated example with good silver content. The Standing Liberty quarter was only struck for 15 years, and the date wore off so commonly on these coins that in 1925 the Mint recessed the date into the design to help it survive — a rare case of the government admitting a design flaw mid-run. *Generated with Gavel AI — please ask questions if the description doesn't seem right.
