Vintage Tole-Painted Metal Serving Tray, Floral Bouquet

A classic piece of American tole work — black-painted metal tray with a hand-painted bouquet of roses, daisies, and wildflowers in pink, cream, and lavender, accented with yellow scrollwork throughout. The octagonal form has a pierced gallery edge all the way around and cut-out handles on each side, the kind of tray that looks right on a sideboard or hung on a wall. Measures approximately 17.5" x 13.5" based on the ruler in the photo. The painted surface shows its age — some scratches, paint loss at the corners, and rust showing through at the edges — but the floral decoration itself is still vivid and detailed. The reverse shows heavier wear with scratching and surface oxidation. A well-used example with real character. *Generated with Gavel AI — please ask questions if the description doesn't seem right.
