Description

A solid example of one of the most collected coins in American numismatics — the New Orleans Morgan dollar. The obverse shows Lady Liberty with good detail in the hair and headband, and the reverse eagle is sharp with well-defined feathers and wreath. Nice original toning on the obverse, brighter silver on the reverse. Details: - Date: 1885 - Mint Mark: O (New Orleans) - Denomination: One Dollar - Series: Morgan Dollar - Silver Content: 90% silver, pre-1965 - Obverse: E Pluribus Unum, Liberty headband clearly legible - Reverse: Mint mark "O" visible below eagle, above "ONE DOLLAR" Circulated with light to moderate wear — details still crisp, no major hits or damage. A handsome coin with honest age. The New Orleans Mint struck Morgan dollars from 1879 to 1904, drawing on silver from the booming Gulf Coast trade, and the "O" mint mark remains one of the most sought-after among Morgan collectors. *Generated with Gavel AI — please ask questions if the description doesn't seem right.
