Description
A salt-glazed stoneware canning jar from Sherwood Bros. Pottery of New Brighton, Pennsylvania — a local western PA maker that doesn't show up every day. The embossed oval mark on the body reads clearly, and the original wire bail handle is still present, though well rusted. Jar stands approximately 7" tall and includes a stoneware lid. Interior shows some wear, exterior is the classic buff/tan salt glaze with natural firing variation and surface crazing here and there. 2 chips at the top. A solid piece of Pennsylvania pottery history. *Generated with Gavel AI — please ask questions if the description doesn't seem right.
